Wills

I was wondering if anyone had any information on making a will in Cyprus? I have been advised that my UK will is valid and I don't need a separate will in the TRNC, but friends of mine have been advised to have a separate will.

Re: Wills

Hi Sandra

If you have made a valid will in the UK which states that it covers all of your property wherever situated in the world, it is possible, in the event of your death, to apply to the courts in the TRNC for the will and the UK Grant of Probate to be endorsed by the TRNC courts by a process called 'Re-sealing'. However, this can be a lengthy process and the probate work will be much more straight forward if you have a separate will to cover your property in the TRNC.
